I met the perfect Russian woman named Tanya on match.com, but her emails seemed to make less and less sense in consideration of what I was writing her. She kept sending photos—she was beautiful—and speaking of how she was falling for me and would love to settle down in America. She said she could get her visa and airfare to visit me in a matter of days and for only about nine hundred dollars, which she wanted me to wire to her travel agent. I asked Sandy of Matecheck to find out if the travel agency was legitimate and why they don’t take credit cards. Sandy found out that “Tanya” was a famous Russian actress (whose name was not Tanya), and that I was emailing some fat Russian man running a con game. I am now waiting for Date Checked so this will never happened to me again. -- Tim Coker |
Since my dating service is so new, I can only tell you what I have heard over the last 14 years as a private investigator and what I feel as a woman. On line dating services is the most widely used source of meeting new people. The convenience of meeting people on line has made it possible for all walks of life to meet people at any hour and anywhere that there is a computer. What I have experienced is that the person on the other side of the computer can be anyone they want to be and that is a big concern. This testimonial is about a woman who used an on-line dating service that did not conduct a background search first. The woman called me and explained how she met this guy on an on-line dating service. She said that they had what she thought a pretty good on-line relationship and that it was moving forward because he had asked her to meet him out of town. She thought nothing about meeting him out of town because she had developed feelings for him and had no reason not to believe everything that he had told her was true. Their fun and exciting first meeting on this trip turned into a nightmare. They were still talking on-line when she found out that she was pregnant by him, she wanted to call him and tell him, but he just kept on e-mailing without giving her a telephone number. She decided to e-mail him the news that he was going to be a father. He then stopped e-mailing her and changed his e-mail address and took himself off of the dating service. She then turned to Mate Check Private Investigations to see if I could find out who he really was. After researching the small amount of information that she had, I found out his real name, and that he was married with five (5) children. If Date Check had been her source of on-line dating, she might be having a child with her husband, instead of having a child with somebody else’s husband. -- Sandra Hope |
